Make port access easier
But what’s a port and why is this important? Kids that are diagnosed with cancer often have a port-a-cath inserted under their skin, usually in the chest area. The port is accessed with a needle and IV, and chemo is given this way.
For better treatment days
The area surrounding the port must be sterile, so if a child is wearing a regular shirt, they generally need to remove it for the port to be accessed. If a child is wearing a Zippaport shirt, they simply need to unzip the zipper for the port to be accessed.
How you can help
Our vision is to distribute these shirts to any brave kid who requires port access.
Help us make cancer treatments easier for kids. We’re looking for shirt donations, monetary donations and sewing volunteers.
